Norwich Foodbank
Norwich Foodbank is part of the Trussell UK-wide network of foodbanks providing emergency food parcels to local people in crisis. We operate a referral system so we can be sure that the person in need is not only receiving essential food, but advice and support too, with the intention that they no longer need to use our service. We work closely with Citizens Advice, British Red Cross and Shelter who are present in our 11 distribution centres to give face to face advice and support. We partner with Fuel Bank Foundation to help people in fuel poverty, Free Cakes for Kids to provide a birthday cake for child going without and BookBank who offer free new books to people accessing foodbank. Our vision is to see the end to the need for foodbanks and our partnership with Acts support this vision - helping someone buy an essential item or cover a bill may be the difference between then affording food or not.

Current needs
Ms K is a young single parent of a 4 month old baby. Her cooker is currently not working and she has been in contact with other agencies for funding and was told that she was not eligible. The client has limited literacy skills and experiences anxiety which prevents her from receiving the support she needs. Client is now working with Foodbank and partners who will also make referrals to other services as required. Thank you for considering this request.
