St. Vincent de Paul- Our Lady of Christian and St Helens

This gentleman approached us due to some significant changes in his circumstances. After a challenging time for the family his young children were made subject to child protection and private care proceedings. This gentleman has now been awarded custody of his children through the family courts. You have already provided beds for which he is grateful. He is on Universal Credit and has no savings. He lacks storage and the home is becoming cluttered and disorganised. We would like to offer him wardrobes and drawers.

This large family have been living in a two-bed temporary flat with six children and have now moved into a three-bed permanent house but do not have the money or support network to furnish it. With your help, we have provided two single beds and would like to provide one more single bed to allow the children to get a good nights sleep. We would also like to offer some food vouchers and clothing for the new school term for the children.

This gentleman is experiencing a difficult period while transitioning to a new home, which he rents while receiving Universal Credit. Unfortunately, due to financial hardship, he has been unable to afford essential household appliances, including a cooker and often struggles to purchase adequate food. He lives alone and is managing all costs independently. The lack of proper facilities has significantly impacted his wellbeing. We would like to provide him with a cooker to prepare meals for himself.

This lady is a single mother with two young children who moved from another area due to anti-social behaviour including drug taking and dealing in the stairwell of her block. She works part-time and relies on benefits to top up her wages. Her new flat is unfurnished and she has bought some items but has no savings to fully furnish it. With your kind support we provided a fridge/freezer and washing machine, we would now like to provide her with a comfortable sofa for the family and food vouchers.

This lady was referred to us by her Support Worker who is concerned for her wellbeing and that of her family. The family of three adults and four children fled domestic violence, unable to take anything with them and have been living in homeless accommodation. This lady has already endured immense challenges and her mental health has suffered. They are now housed but have no savings. You have already kindly provided beds so they have somewhere to sleep. We would like to provide a sofa and TV to help the family relax and enjoy time together in their new safe environment.
