This lady with seven children is a single mother living on benefits. Having recently been rehoused, they need household items including a new washing machine. As you can imagine, with eight people in the house, there is a lot of washing of school uniforms, play clothes and household laundry. The washing is now mounting up and, although L is asking neighbours to help this is not a long-term solution. There is no launderette nearby so if you can help with this request, it will help them all so much.
