D is a single gentleman in his 50s who came to us for money and debt advice. D has a history of mental health illness and is socially very isolated. He works a few hours a week, but is on a very low income, is vulnerable and lacks financial resilience. D relies on frozen food to keep costs down, but his fridge freezer is now broken. Buying a new one would remind him that someone cares; it would improve his basic living standards and support his overall well-being and stability.
