Ms D is on a very low benefit income. She is looking for work but this is proving harder to find than she had thought. Her basic Universal Credit does not cover her costs leaving her unable to pay for her gas and electricity and in addition she is going without food. Please can you provide a donation to help Ms D pay her British Gas bills and buy food from Lidl.

J is in his early 60s and was made redundant at the end of last year. After losing his phone, he struggled to access his Universal Credit account and could not recall his login details. As a result, his claim stopped, and rent arrears built up, leading to threatened repossession action. Although his claim has now been reinstated and repossession halted, repayments have left him unable to afford basic necessities. Support is needed for groceries and help with his electricity bill.

K is visually impaired and has incurred rent, council tax and utility arrears following the decline of his health. Due to his limited vision, he has experienced a fire in his property due to the lack of support. K has not had a washing machine for a few months and has been travelling to and from the launderette which takes him a significant time. He is awaiting an operation to improve his vision. A new washing machine will help K regain some control over his life.

K has severe health conditions that significantly limit her daily activities. She uses a wheelchair and often needs a full day to recover after simple errands. Her adult daughter, who shares many of the same conditions, is also her carer. A similar energy-tracking device has already helped her daughter manage her symptoms. Funding a tracker and membership for K will help both women better understand their energy levels and coordinate essential daily tasks.

Our client is a single man aged 62. He has been street homeless and housed through St Mungo's charity in a House of Multiple Occupation. His first language is Romanian and he is very isolated.  He is not able to work due to his health conditions and is currently only receiving £413/month, the most basic amount from Universal Credit, to live off.  Unfortunately, he was not aware that he had to pay for his electricity and six months after moving in he has a large bill to pay which is unaffordable.
