Housing Justice

This young man spent three years in temporary housing before recently securing his own flat. Unable to work due to severe depression and trauma, he budgets his limited income well but lacks funds to furnish his empty home. We are requesting donations to purchase a comfortable lounge chair, a footstool, and some warm bedding for him. Having a proper, comfortable place to sit, relax, and read will make a massive difference to his daily wellbeing and help turn his new flat into a real home.

R is a newly granted refugee and currently on benefits, therefore living off very little. She finished college for the summer, and that is how she keeps herself busy. When she is not busy, she struggles with his mental health and it brings her back to her past trauma. She would love to be able to get to the gym and keep her mind busy whilst improving her mental and physical health. Money for a three month membership would make a huge difference.

D was recently referred to us following a period of rough sleeping. He now has a secure tenancy but is struggling due to having a broken phone. His benefits were suspended for this month as he was unable to read vital messages on his journal due to his faulty phone. When I met with D today, he hadn't eaten in two days. I've managed to process a foodbank voucher but D desperately needs a working phone and a supermarket voucher to see him through to his next benefits payment in three weeks.
