Housing Justice

After a period of homelessness and unstable housing, A is now in his own flat. He is settling into the new area really well and is volunteering at his local church. However his flat came very sparsely furnished. He would really benefit from having a small fridge so he can keep and store healthy ingredients, and an electric cooker so he can prepare nutritious meals. A would be very grateful for these items, as they would allow him to keep his living costs down, and feel permanently settled in his new home.

R has been referred to us following a period of homelessness. She has recently moved to her own flat. R is a qualified masseuse and is trying to get back to work. She wants to start practicing massage and setting up a service at her flat. R already has a massage bed and needs help to purchase some further equipment so that she can set herself up with work that will lead to an income. We are looking to support R to purchase a specialist massage storage cupboard along with some essential oils.

S has just moved into her own accommodation, after long period of homelessness since being granted refugee status. She has never lived anywhere in the UK where she has been able to have her own kitchen equipment and has never owned a set of cutlery, mugs or pots and pans. Some money towards purchasing these essential items would be an amazing start for S and allow her to settle into her new home.
