Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

L is a single lady with two children who has come to the UK to work in the care industry on the shortage of workers scheme. She has no recourse to public funds, hence no support at all from anyone at the moment, and her income is not enough to sustain the family. L is currently struggling to pay for all the bills and furnish the house for them to settle in. Mum is requesting our support to purchase a fridge freezer, iron and board, a bed and mattress for her children, and a coffee table.

Total needed £200Our client, who suffers from hypertension and depression, is an asylum seeker from Pakistan who has been resident in the UK for twenty years. He has obtained charitable funding to pay for a solicitor who will represent his asylum appeal. However, there are additional costs that our client cannot meet, as he is reliant on friends for accommodation, food and basic needs. He requires an ID card and passport from his country of origin, a statement of his NHS history and travel costs to the High commission. Our client hopes for permission to remain and to work in haematology within the NHS.

Total needed £200Our client has been without a gas oven for over a year, due to a gas leak. The family of four are living on a low income, due to them having caring responsibilities. This leaves their budget fully stretched and has meant that they have been unable to purchase a replacement. They have been solely using their microwave to cook any hot food, leaving them unable to batch cook meals, which will help to reduce their weekly grocery spend.

Total needed £60This lady, who has a history of depression and anxiety, fled her partner, due to domestic violence, and relocated with a friend in Buxton. Her friend got ill and the lady became her carer. However, the relationship has just broken down and our client has had to leave the home. The housing association doesn't have a duty to house her, as she doesn't have any significant health issues. This lady, who is coming to us every day for food, is sleeping in her car and, as she only gets a small amount of Universal credit, she cannot pay for her car insurance for this month.

Her ex-partner has left her with a lot of debt and she is constantly living in an overdraft which incurs over £150 in fees and overdraft interest. This lady has to drive her children to three different schools and is not eligible for help with transport, so she is spending an average of £20 a day on fuel. She is due to receive debt advice from Christians Against Poverty, but needs help in the meantime. Thank you.

Total needed £150E, a single mum of three children, works full-time and receives some Universal Credit to top-up her wages. Mum needs a car to do her job, as she works in the community supporting vulnerable disabled people with their care needs. Her car has failed its MOT and will cost £395 to repair. E has no savings, but another charity is offering to help with some of the repair costs. If mum doesn't keep her car on the road, she will lose her job, which will be devastating for her family.
