Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
My client, TB, has been struggling with his mental health for the last twelve months and lost his job as a result of this. This has further impacted his mental health and has had an impact on his finances as he awaits benefits. TB has had to take his car of the road as he could no longer afford to run the car and pay his household bills. He is now in receipt of a new job offer, but is unable to get there without a car, as the job starts at 5am. We are asking for help with an MOT, tax and insurance.
Still £130 left to donate
Total needed £200A has recently moved into his first flat following release from prison. He has got nearly all of the furniture needed, but does not have an oven or a sofa. He is saving for this, but we would like to help him with these items for him and his family to help get life back on track.
Still £190 left to donate
Total needed £200A has been working with our ex-offender employability service for the last few months, after 8 years unemployed. From a low confidence start, he has newly felt able to begin volunteering with a partner charity, and is gearing towards working again. He needs help to replace his out-of-date passport as a necessary right-to-work document, as he starts to get interviews and hopefully a paid job once more.
Still £90 left to donate
Total needed £90W has been living in one of our supported properties for approximately one year; he engages well with our service and is regularly in employment, but has fallen on hard times as his employer needed to downsize and he lost his job. W is now claiming Universal Credit, so is finding it difficult to pay for everything that he needs. He recently lost his smartphone which he needs to access his Universal Credit journal and his recruitment apps.
