Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

A is now the legal guardian for her two grandchildren, as requested by the Home Office. The children relocated abroad over four years ago, but their parents became unable to care for them and both children now have mental health issues. A has received the children's element of Universal Credit, but has numerous unexpected expenses. She requires help to buy a blazer and sweatshirts for the younger child (the school are helping with other items) and suitable non uniform clothes for both.

Total needed £80J, who came to us after living in a hostel for over nine months, has been homeless, on and off, his whole adult life. This client urgently needs some new footwear, as his trainers are literally falling apart and he owns very little clothes. J is on a very low income and he is ready for a fresh start, which involves making a routine. I would like him, if possible, to have a gym membership for his mental wellbeing and some new trainers and gym pants. Many thanks in advance.

Total needed £150This gentleman has been attending the St Vincent de Paul centre for several months. His mental health was severely impacted, but through collaboration with the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) mental health team and our services, he has made significant progress. Now working towards personal empowerment and independence, this gentleman has applied to be a mechanic in Basildon. We request assistance in purchasing comfortable workwear (shoes, trousers and a jacket) and transport fees for two weeks to support his journey to personal independence. Thank you for your support.

Total needed £120Our applicant's mum died by suicide in November 2023 and her two siblings have subsequently been cared for by dad, who relocated from another area of the country in order to care for them. He had minimal parental responsibility prior to the bereavement, therefore, has had to quickly take on the role of a full-time single parent and has had to make adaptations. Our applicant and siblings are due to start senior school next term and your support would help buy new uniforms. Dad is unemployed at present so is unable to afford this expense. He would also appreciate some money towards food supplies over the school holidays.
