Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

This single mother, who has a one year old baby, has been homeless, but has now been given social housing. Another charity has given her basic furniture and other necessary items. Mum still needs a washing machine. She is so grateful for this new start in life and for her little baby, wants to be a good mother and, with her own home, feels that she can. A washing machine would be great for her as she does try to wash clothes and laundry by hand. The drying of them is hard as they drip everywhere.

Total needed £170J, who has had to leave his home of forty years, due to unforeseen circumstances, has found himself in emergency accommodation. He has no belongings and a low income which means he can't afford to purchase much. A fridge freezer would mean that he could store fresh food, rather than living out of tins, which would mean he could eat more healthily and make a huge difference as he tries to rebuild his life.

Total needed £120R recently moved into a flat, having been homeless since getting out of prison. He is getting lots of support and trying to build his home whilst looking for employment, but living on basic benefits now. R is also hoping to see his four children again soon. He really needs white goods at the moment to be able to manage independently, and £185 for a fridge freezer would really help him start to feel like he has a home and doesn't have to live buying food each day. Please could we help?

Total needed £200O found himself homeless about six months ago when he lost his ID and long term job, and was unable to find a new job without any ID. He moved into our charity's nightshelter for five months before moving into our mid term accommodation a month ago. Since being homeless, O has loved doing jigsaw puzzles and they have been a great distraction and a relaxing hobby for him. As they have been a happy memory for him, he would like some frames to show the ones he has completed and to keep in his room.

Total needed £50Our client, J, was homeless and is now housed in a small flat. The living room has a bare concrete floor and they need a carpet for this, but are struggling to afford it. At the moment, they cannot work because they have mental health issues, and are having to manage on Personal Independence Payment and incapacity benefits. Having a decent carpet in the living room would make their flat feel much more like a home.

Total needed £200This individual has recently been released from prison and his accommodation is currently unavailable. The processing period for securing accommodation is expected to take a few days. In the meantime, he remains street homeless and there is concern that staying on the streets may lead to a temptation to reoffend, due to living conditions. We are reaching out for your assistance in temporarily housing him for four nights in a bed and breakfast to provide time for a permanent solution to be arranged.

Total needed £200Our client was living with his family until August 2022 when the relationship broke down. He then slept on the sofa at his brother's house, but after his brother died, he was asked to leave. Our client began riding the 53 bus and was picked up by Streetlink at Elephant and Castle. He was taken to St Mungo's and then put in temporary accommodation by Lewisham's rough sleepers team. Our client has finally been placed in permanent housing and would be so grateful for a fridge freezer, which he cannot afford as he is on Universal Credit.

Total needed £200This beautiful Nigerian couple, who have lovely children, have been studying in the UK for the last year. Having enjoyed the sense of safety and peace in Scotland, they strongly desire to stay here now that the university course has ended. They have two young daughters and the cost for the whole family to get a Post Graduate visa for two years is extremely expensive. Through the grace of God and His wonderful provision, they have almost raised enough money for the visas. Thank you so much for your support with the final £200.
