Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This gentleman, referred to us by a sister agency, is a recovering addict with complex needs. He is currently living without a mattress, which is causing him severe mental distress. We are urgently seeking your assistance to purchase a mattress for him and provide a food parcel for four weeks while we collaborate with other partner agencies. Any support towards this would be greatly appreciated.
Still £145 left to donate
Total needed £200This young woman was referred to us by a sister agency and is currently working with support staff to manage her psychosis. Her support staff and St. Vincent de Paul are requesting your assistance to provide a hoover and a food parcel for four weeks, as she has recently moved into new accommodation. Having the ability to clean her new space to a good standard will aid in her satisfaction and provide her with a sense of self-pride and fulfilment, which will help alleviate her mental distress.
Still £150 left to donate
Total needed £200This gentleman, who has been a regular service user at our centre for several years, is a recovering alcoholic who is living in sheltered accommodation. St Vincent de Paul is currently seeking assistance to provide a large computer desk and comfortable chair, and a food parcel for a month. Your support will enable this gentleman to stay occupied, which he finds crucial for keeping his mind active and away from his internal struggles. It will also provide him with the opportunity to improve as an individual.
