£0 remaining for a smart phone
N struggles with severe anxiety & other health conditions that make it very hard for him to leave the house. He has recently had to open a new bank account & had a great deal of difficulty, as he has no email address or internet access. N is digitally excluded and cut off from people. Could you please consider helping this gentlemen by giving him the means to be able to get online? A smart phone would make the world of difference to him & help him stay connected to the world. Thank you so much.
This gentleman, who has a long history of illness and mental health issues (PTSD), is in receipt of benefits and Personal Independence Payment. He has been a client of our food bank for some time and we have witnessed him adopt a more positive attitude to life as time has gone by. For example, he was recently motivated to undertake some long-overdue home decorating. However, now his bed mattress has given out and he doesn't have the funds to replace it.
Age Concern has contacted us to ask for our help with an elderly man who is the main carer for his disabled wife. She receives Universal Credit and Personal Independence Allowance and he gets a small carer's allowance. Their fridge freezer has broken beyond repair and they cannot afford to replace it. They need it so they can buy economical food on offer or buy in bulk. Please can you help us to get them a reconditioned one with a six month warranty?
This disabled lady has been a client of the food bank for some time. The support she has received, both practical and emotional, has seen her grow in confidence and take a more positive attitude to life. With our encouragement, this lady investigated courses run by the local Skill and Learning body and is attending a Basic Computing Course (government sponsored), but also expressed a keen interest in an art course which carries a fee of £49.
