Feeling empowered through a gift

This young mum of two was a regular customer at our partner charity's social supermarket in Dorset. C was finding the rising cost of living overwhelming, and asked for some extra help with her energy bills over Christmas. The local Advocate in the local charity was able to post her request for help, which was met in time for Christmas. They also supported her with some festive food and gifts for the children to make Christmas special.

Acts 435 donors stepped in to help C with her gas and electricity, which meant that she could have a warm Christmas, and cook a Christmas dinner for her family. Not only did donors provide this practical gift, they also gave her inspiration to look forward to the new year, and empowered her to appreciate all that she does have.

Here is what C had to say:

I am so very grateful to everyone who donated money to support me. I feel empowered knowing people like you make the world a better place. I have just lost my Nan, who I was very close to, and this has made me realise life is too short. I may not have much, but I have two healthy children and a roof over my head, small, but our safe place. 2023 is going to be my year. I am trying to focus on the good, and you have all been an inspiration to me in doing that. I cannot thank you enough, not just for the money, but for changing my outlook on life.
