Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This vulnerable man struggles with mental health issues and finds it difficult to manage his benefits. He is in need of a double mattress as he is not sleeping well. He receives Universal Credit, but has no spare money to buy a replacement. Please would you consider helping him? Thank you.
Still £145 left to donate
Total needed £175V is a single person who is living alone, trying to manage on benefits and has no savings. His fridge, which is old, broke several months ago and is beyond repair. He has managed in the winter, but is very worried about the warmer weather coming. V cannot afford to throw away food and needs to be able to store cooked food and left overs for the next day, including milk and other fresh items safely. Any contribution to this much needs fridge would be gratefully received. Thank you.
Still £155 left to donate
Total needed £175This lady, who has a history of depression and anxiety, fled her partner, due to domestic violence, and relocated with a friend in Buxton. Her friend got ill and the lady became her carer. However, the relationship has just broken down and our client has had to leave the home. The housing association doesn't have a duty to house her, as she doesn't have any significant health issues. This lady, who is coming to us every day for food, is sleeping in her car and, as she only gets a small amount of Universal credit, she cannot pay for her car insurance for this month.
Still £80 left to donate
Total needed £80This lady has recently moved into a new house with her four children after suffering domestic abuse. Her ex-partner has left her with a lot of debt and she is constantly living in an overdraft which incurs over £150 in fees and overdraft interest. This lady has to drive her children to three different schools and is not eligible for help with transport, so she is spending an average of £20 a day on fuel. She is due to receive debt advice from Christians Against Poverty, but needs help in the meantime. Thank you.
