Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Total needed £200J, who suffers with anxiety and depression, and is unfit for work, has moved to a new area due to problems he had where he was previously living. His washer was taken by someone who had stayed with him for a while in his old flat. He has not been able to get it back and he is finding it difficult to manage without it. J receives Universal Credit, but the expense of moving has left him struggling to meet his living costs, and he cannot afford to replace it. He would be very grateful for your help.

Total needed £185J, who has osteoarthritis and balance problems, has had a three month trial at the Community Gym (kindly funded through Acts 435) and has found this greatly beneficial for his wellbeing. He has noticed an improvement in his balance and we would be very grateful for any donations to allow J a further three months membership, in order to continue this support and improvement in his health. We are supporting with benefits so that J will hopefully be in a better financial situation and able to self-fund in the future.

Total needed £100This lady, who lives on her own and has recently moved in to a ground floor flat, has long-term health issues with her back and is awaiting a further operation. She is currently on Universal Credit, but hopes to get back to work after her operation. Due to her health, this lady's work has been interrupted and, as a result, she is having to use some of her benefits to pay off debts. Your support with this request for food and utility bills would be a real blessing to give her a little bit of financial breathing space.

Total needed £150M is a full-time carer for his wife, who suffers from leukaemia, and his four children, aged from six to nineteen. They live in a housing association property, and struggle to get by on Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. All four children have suffered from a dust mite allergy and asthma since moving into the property. They have taken expert medical advice, which confirms they need to remove the carpeting and replace with hard flooring. This change would transform their health.

Total needed £200This lady suffers from sciatica, anxiety and depression, and is currently having investigations into seizures. Her partner of twenty years died recently, two days after being diagnosed with cancer. All benefits have been suspended whilst the change in circumstances is being worked through. This lady's washing machine has broken and, due to the sciatica, she is unable to make the 25-35 minute walk to the launderette; which is even longer home, as it is up hill. We are requesting a washing machine to support her.

Total needed £200N and her five children are currently staying in temporary accommodation, following a move for their safety. Their only income is benefits and mum struggles to make ends meet. Her son has developed breathing difficulties and the doctor has recommended a mattress and bedding specifically to reduce allergies. N would appreciate your support in purchasing these items. Many thanks.

Total needed £195This supported person, who is suffering with seizures and poor mental health, lives alone. He has debt arrears which he is slowly paying off, but we would like to help him clear the debts so we can apply to get him a flat nearer his family. There is a constant worry that this person will have a seizure alone at home and nobody will know about it. £150 will help reduce the amount of his payment plan.

Total needed £115J is a single mum with a teenage son. She has been deemed to be not fit for work and receives Universal Credit and Employment Support Allowance. Mum recently had a break-in at her home and extensive damage was caused to her fridge freezer, rendering it unusable. J does not have insurance cover and cannot afford to replace it. Total needed £200Would you consider supporting a single mum with a second-hand dishwasher? Due to mum developing a health condition which causes fatigue, anything to help reduce the load and reserve her energy levels would be a real blessing and make a difference. Many thanks from the Chippenham Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Centre.

Total needed £100This woman, who was referred to us by the Social Prescriber, was forced to move from her flat, due to severe abuse and threatening behaviour from neighbours, which escalated to the point that the police became involved. In addition to this trauma, this woman suffers from multiple physical health problems, including spinal cauda equina. The only piece of furniture she was able to take with her is a fridge. We urgently request your assistance with a washing machine, including delivery and installation.

Total needed £200J has suffered significant with physical and mental health problems for some time, including hospitalisation, and recently lost their employment income. Their cooker has just been condemned and removed, but it is not covered by the insurance and their benefits barely cover daily living costs. This has left them struggling to prepare proper meals and get back to living independently. Your support to purchase a cooker would help them look after themselves as they continue their recovery.

Total needed £200G has had help previously from Acts 435, enabling her to travel and park at the specialist children's hospital where her daughter needs specialist care which is some distance away. G realises there is a limit to the help Acts 435 can give, but would be grateful if £60 for two more appointments could be provided.

Total needed £60S, who receives Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment, has been living in a first floor council flat. The last few years have been filled with many hospital admissions, some lasting for over a month, which have created mobility issues for S. Her flat cannot be adapted so she has had to source other accommodation. S has secured a tenancy with Anchor Housing in a retirement village where her needs will be supported. Any Acts 435 donations towards the removal costs will help her financially.

Total needed £200P had to leave her accommodation, due to personal safety issues, and lost all her belongings in the process. She is unable to work, due to mental and physical health problems, including sciatica and arthritis. These are being aggravated by her only having a blow-up bed to sleep on at present, and she has nowhere comfortable to sit. P awaits the outcome of her Personal Independence Payment application. A sofa bed would dramatically improve her quality of life and help her have the strength to deal with her situation.

Total needed £200A single mum of two, who is battling stage four cancer of the spine, is struggling financially with debt. Her youngest son shares a bed with her and this is causing mum some additional discomfort, as her son can kick during his sleep. We would like to provide the family with a new bed and mattress for her son, so that mum can get a good night's sleep. The freezer has broken and mum is unable to store any food, so we would also like to provide the family with a small freezer. Thank you.
