Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

This woman, who was referred to us by the Social Prescriber, was forced to move from her flat, due to severe abuse and threatening behaviour from neighbours, which escalated to the point that the police became involved. In addition to this trauma, this woman suffers from multiple physical health problems, including spinal cauda equina. The only piece of furniture she was able to take with her is a fridge. We urgently request your assistance with a washing machine, including delivery and installation.

Total needed £200S, who receives Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment, has been living in a first floor council flat. The last few years have been filled with many hospital admissions, some lasting for over a month, which have created mobility issues for S. Her flat cannot be adapted so she has had to source other accommodation. S has secured a tenancy with Anchor Housing in a retirement village where her needs will be supported. Any Acts 435 donations towards the removal costs will help her financially.

His housing provider and local council have been contacted, but have said it is the tenant's responsibility to pay for pest control.

Total needed £200Having spoken with our client, they are not in a good place. Their old bed needs replacing, as does their mattress. The client has a long history of mental health issues. Whilst the client tries to manage their situation, they are unable to do so and need help. This, in turn, produces a feeling of failure which exacerbates their depression. Their partner is their full-time carer so their income is purely dependant on benefits.

Total needed £200This man has stomach cancer and is living in a caravan off grid. He heats the van with a generator, fuelled by petrol. His generator is using £20 a day to keep him warm. I am requesting your help to supply him with 10 days of petrol to run his generator, so he has money left to put fuel in his car to attend the hospital. I am in conversation with Rural Action Derbyshire about the generator costs and they said they may be able to help. I am worried about this mans health as it gets colder.
