Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
O, who is fifty years old, has come to the UK from Nigeria and is applying for a humans rights visa in order to stay here. She is an internationally trained social worker and, to be able to work professionally in the UK and register as a social worker, needs an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) certificate in English at level 7, but she only has level 6.5. The cost of level 7 is £220. O has just had spinal surgery and is not working at the moment, but is being supported by her church and food bank.

Total needed £200A is an asylum seeker who studies really hard to improve his English. Due to health reasons, he can’t access classes in person, and it would help him enormously to have his own laptop so that he can study online, do homework and access other helpful information online. Thank you so much for helping A mentally and improving his life quality by making it possible to purchase a second-hand laptop for him.
Still £155 left to donate
Total needed £170A is an asylum seeker who attends our English classes and is keen to improve his English. It is difficult for him to do homework, access additional classes and information online with only an old phone. It would help A immensely if he could have his own laptop to move forward in life and use the time of waiting until he will get an interview. Thank you so much for helping him!
