Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

J and her young son, have recently moved and had very little furniture and no flooring. We supplied furniture, but would appreciate your support with carpets. Mum's son, who has autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), runs around a lot. This is resulting in complaints from neighbours about the noise, which she is very anxious about. J, who works part-time whilst her son is at school, would be really grateful for your support in providing a master bedroom carpet. Many thanks

Total needed £200N has been in rehabilitation for the last eighteen months and is moving back to Scotland to start an internship with us. She has made brilliant progress and is about to move into her new tenancy, where she will be starting from scratch and needing to build things up over a period of time. Her role with us is unpaid. N is excited to have her own home so she can have her kids visit, make it a place to build her life again and start planning for her future. We are delighted to be having N come on board this year.

Total needed £190This lovely young lady is single parent to a little four year old boy who has just started school. The council has moved them into a completely unfurnished flat. Mum has spent all her money on uniform and second-hand furniture, and now has to use the foodbank to get by. Friends have found her a fridge-freezer, but one of them suggested she asked us for help to get a new washing machine. Mum could not believe that we would help, as the council has refused.

Total needed £200C is homeless and, as a result of this, is currently being accommodated in emergency hotel accommodation. If you can help with the purchase of a fridge, C can participate in a church-run 'Cooking on a Budget' course, enabling him to benefit from the provision of fresh food as part of this course. The fridge will move with him when he is relocated into temporary accommodation.

Total needed £200N and T were living in a privately rented house, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the landlord had to sell. They have moved in with T's parents for now, whilst they look for another property. Unfortunately, their business collapsed during Covid, which means they are struggling financially. They expect to be able to move into a property of their own in the next few weeks and will need a washing machine. Please can you help?

Total needed £200This single gentleman, aged fifty seven, is in his first real home after being homeless. He is currently using most of his benefit money to pay for storage, as he cant afford to hire a ‘man with a van’ to move the items to his new home. Please would you consider donating £200 so that we can organise this on his behalf?

Total needed £200This lady has had to flee domestic violence quickly with her five children. They have had to travel a long distance and have been housed in a bed and breakfast for some time now. They have been offered permanent accommodation in their preferred area near support networks, but mum needs to obtain birth certificates for her and the children to secure this. Given the situation, finances have been tough and she cannot afford the outlay for this.

Total needed £120N was previously homeless, but was lucky enough to move into his current home late last year. He is working part-time, but his income is very low and he has no savings. N has been unable to fund carpets himself, so his home (minus the kitchen and bathroom) has no flooring. We have an offer of free flooring, but we just need help with the fitting costs and we're praying that kind Acts 435S donors will come to our rescue!

She is feeling really distressed, as she is covered in bites which have become infected. This client already suffers with poor mental health, which is being exacerbated by this situation. She cannot afford to pay for the professional pest control treatment, as she is on a ten hour working contract with a very low income. This client will also need to replace her quilt and appreciates any support offered.

Total needed £200S, who receives Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment, has been living in a first floor council flat. The last few years have been filled with many hospital admissions, some lasting for over a month, which have created mobility issues for S. Her flat cannot be adapted so she has had to source other accommodation. S has secured a tenancy with Anchor Housing in a retirement village where her needs will be supported. Any Acts 435 donations towards the removal costs will help her financially.

Total needed £200L, who has recently moved to her first tenancy with a local housing association, has sofa surfed for twelve months, due to her relationship with her parents breaking down when L found out her mother had taken out debts in her name, which she is having to pay off. More recently, L was a victim of domestic abuse from her dad which has massively effected her mental health. She has managed to hold down her job, has saved some money to buy items for her flat and has obtained some free items from Gumtree. L requires a washing machine to be able help her set up home and become self sufficient, instead of taking clothes to friends to have them washed, which she has done since leaving the family home.
