Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
T finds shopping very difficult with her numerous health issues. Her fridge freezer has broken beyond repair and she really needs one so she doesn't have to do daily shopping which is almost impossible for her. T is on basic disability benefits and is so panicky because she can't manage to get out to buy food. Please can we help her get a new fridge freezer so that she can bulk buy and manage both physically and financially for her family. Thank you.
Still £165 left to donate
Total needed £190R, a single mum of two children, has fled an abusive relationship. She has multiple disabilities, alongside post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. After a period in a women's refuge, R has now been supported into a new home. Her only income is Universal Credit and she has no savings as she has spent what she had on furnishings and white goods for her house. Floor coverings would turn R's house into a home, help her mental health and give her the fresh start she is desperate for.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200N is a veteran who is paralysed, due to two broken discs. He lives in warden controlled accommodation and his family sometimes come to help him. N's washing machine has broken beyond repair and, sadly, there isn't anyone prepared to take his washing to the launderette for him. He came in very anxious about not having access to a washing machine. There are lots of other issues we need to unravel for N, but if we can meet this immediate need, it will enable us to start doing this.
Still £185 left to donate
Total needed £185H is single and trying to live independently, but with autistic and mental health issues. He is grossly overweight and binge eating on unhealthy meals. A care package is being sought. H seeks a tall fridge freezer so meals can be provided by carers and stored safely, to bring some order to his life. This will encourage him to eat healthily, to lose weight and manage more by himself. Support for H would be another step towards changing his circumstances, and greatly appreciated.
