Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

A, a young man who is about to move into his own flat, has lived in our supported accommodation for twelve months, after a family breakdown led him to being homeless. A is a positive young man who is relishing the opportunity to have his own tenancy. He has progressed well, with our support, and is now confident to live independently. There is no carpet or flooring throughout the property and A cannot afford it himself, due to him sourcing a lot of essential items.

Total needed £150We have been supporting S, a young lady who is fleeing a very difficult situation, including domestic violence, for about a year. Through your recent kindness, we have been able to put some carpet down, have sourced free furniture and have begun to make it a lovely space for her to enjoy and relax, which has really helped her mental health. S would love to get some flooring for her hallway, as it is bare wood and in poor condition. Any help you could offer would make a huge difference.

Total needed £190My client has fled her home with her baby, due to domestic abuse from her partner. As a charity, we have helped her secure housing and would further like to help by purchasing a carpet for the baby's bedroom. Mum is living in fear and has high anxiety, due to the perpetrator being released from prison in the near future, so she has had to relocate to a different town away from her friends and family. All support would be greatly appreciated.

Total needed £150Our client, K, is a single mother of a severely disabled adult daughter and needs help to purchase and install some simple flooring in her daughter's bedroom. There are large holes in the floor at present, which is dangerous for both mum and daughter. K is a long-term recipient of support from our group. She does all she can to look after her daughter, for whom she is the sole carer, and to provide a safe and happy home environment for her, but she struggles to meet all her daughter's significant needs on her low income.

Total needed £150This Ukrainian single parent is finally managing to live independently. Unfortunately, the new property has no carpets, just bare floorboards. Mum is working full-time for the NHS to support her teenage son, as well as her partner in Ukraine with medical expenses, following an injury from fighting in the war. Mum has provided everything else for the home, but does not have any extra money to pay for carpets. Any help that can be given to support the cost would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Total needed £200£200 is requested towards suitable floor covering for a young couple and their fifteen month old baby. They were formerly homeless and in a hostel, but have now been allocated a new rental property with no floor covering except in the kitchen and bathroom. There is bare concrete downstairs and bare timber on the stairs and upstairs, which is not suitable for a baby. The couple are on Universal Credit and cannot afford the necessary floor covering.
