Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This gentleman, who has a long history of illness and mental health issues (PTSD), is in receipt of benefits and Personal Independence Payment. He has been a client of our food bank for some time and we have witnessed him adopt a more positive attitude to life as time has gone by. For example, he was recently motivated to undertake some long-overdue home decorating. However, now his bed mattress has given out and he doesn't have the funds to replace it.

Total needed £165Age Concern has contacted us to ask for our help with an elderly man who is the main carer for his disabled wife. She receives Universal Credit and Personal Independence Allowance and he gets a small carer's allowance. Their fridge freezer has broken beyond repair and they cannot afford to replace it. They need it so they can buy economical food on offer or buy in bulk. Please can you help us to get them a reconditioned one with a six month warranty?

The support she has received, both practical and emotional, has seen her grow in confidence and take a more positive attitude to life. With our encouragement, this lady investigated courses run by the local Skill and Learning body and is attending a Basic Computing Course (government sponsored), but also expressed a keen interest in an art course which carries a fee of £49.
