£0 remaining for a fuel debt
L has moved area, but a debt has been raised in her name for gas at her previous address. Her ex partner left at the same time, but will not contribute or discuss this issue, and her new provider will not allow her to set up an account, due to the listed debt. This lovely lady and her husband find themselves in a large amount of rent arrears. They are very worried that they could find themselves in court and that this would impact their young family of three children, aged five, two and eleven months old. The arrears have been caused by the uncertainties in her husband's employment and have been made worse by the recent rent increases. Following discussions with the housing department, they have been advised that a £200 repayment will reduce any risk of legal intervention.
