P, who is a full-time carer for his severely disabled brother and mum, is struggling with his mental health and with finances, due to his only income being Carer's Allowance. He has recently been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and is overwhelmed with his situation. P finds that going to the gym helps with his mental health and gives him respite from his caring responsibilities. We have helped him access mental health support, carer's support and benefits help. Any donations towards gym fees would greatly benefit his recovery.
Having spoken with our client, they are not in a good place. Their old bed needs replacing, as does their mattress. The client has a long history of mental health issues. Whilst the client tries to manage their situation, they are unable to do so and need help. This, in turn, produces a feeling of failure which exacerbates their depression. Their partner is their full-time carer so their income is purely dependant on benefits.
This client is a young parent who had a difficult childhood and was in local authority care for many years. She recently fled from an abusive relationship in order to keep her child, and suffers with poor mental health, due to past experiences. This client moved into a hostel when she left the perpetrator and has now been offered an unfurnished tenancy. She cannot afford to set up her new home as she is reliant upon Universal Credit. Could you please help towards the cost of a washing machine?
