£0 remaining for clothing
X, is in their fifties, transgender, on benefits and is trying to rebuild their life after long periods of time homeless and in and out of prison. They were recently discharged from prison with just one set of basic, ill-fitting clothing, not reflective of who they are. They have since largely made do with clothes donated by charities, which are also often ill-fitting and not to their taste. X would like to be able to choose and buy their own clothes, as that is a big part of their identity.
D, who has fled a nearby city, due to violence, is scared for his life. He has come to Scarborough to be with family and to get a fresh start. D is very unwell with lung disease and three broken ribs. His family has pooled together to give him support and get his new home sorted out. D only has a bed that he really needs now, as he is currently sleeping on a sofa which isn't helping his lungs or ribs! Please could we help him get a bed so that he can finally feel that his new start has begun? Thank you!
C has no photo ID. Due to suffering from addiction, he has voluntarily surrendered his driving licence, which means that photo ID in the form of a licence is not a option. He is close to being tenancy ready and has made huge progress with Hope Housing. C came to us following a very hard bereavement and trauma after the Bradford City fire. Assisting him in gaining his independence back, through having ID, would greatly help C in moving forward with his life.
G has recently moved into his own flat after a long period of homelessness. He worked really hard to address the problems that led to homelessness and now has the skills and knowledge to manage his own tenancy. G has overcome many physical and emotional difficulties and is now moving into a new phase in his life. He is very proud of his new flat and is keen to keep it clean and tidy, which also helps with his mental health. A hoover would help him and get him off to a good start.
