£0 remaining for a washing machine
This family of five are doing their best to thrive together. Due to her son’s additional needs, mum is unable to work full-time so must be careful with finances. She is doing everything she can to support the family, whilst also managing her own trauma and health. Currently, they do not have a washing machine, which is causing added stress. Mum finds it hard to leave the home alone, so having to walk to a launderette with their loads of washing is adding stress, as well as using up more finance.
This gentleman has had a very difficult few years. Following the death of his wife, he was diagnosed with serious medical issues and had to give up work. His wife had been left a legacy, shared with her brother, and the brother had promised to pay the bills for this gentleman from this. Unfortunately, he stopped paying and debts have built up without this man's knowledge. There is no way he can repay these debts, and a Debt Relief Order would be such a huge weight off his mind.

This single mum of three is in an awful situation. When her husband left her, she discovered that he had incurred debts in her name. In addition, he refuses to pay the agreed maintenance for the children, but has asked her to lie about this to the Child Support Agency. He now tells her the children are not his responsibility and has no contact with them. With massive debts, there is no way that mum can afford the bankruptcy fee of £650, but her church is providing £450 so this £200 will enable her to be debt free.

T, a sixty year old man who is struggling with his physical and mental health, still works, but his income is low. His home is heated by oil, which he often cannot afford to buy, and when we visited, we found the home to be cold and damp and T was covered in blankets to try and keep warm. We felt we had to try and do something to improve his situation and have applied to a local household fund for a heating grant, but are short of £88.24 to pay the invoice. T would be so very grateful for this help.
