£0 remaining for a microwave, air-fryer and blender
B is a regular visitor to our community hub. She is Polish so we support her with the Department for Work and Pensions, Universal Credit and her bills, as there is a language barrier. She currently lives in private rented accommodation with her daughter who is a student. Due to her daughter's severe mental health, she is unable to work and depends on Universal Credit. Her microwave has broken, and an air fryer would help keep electricity bills to a minimum. She would also like a blender so she can prepare healthy drinks for her daughter to take on her runs, which she has taken up to try and lift her depression.
S, who receives Employment and Support Allowance, is a frequent visitor to our community centre and adult rolling skating group. She has lived in numerous shared properties for over ten years, meaning her housemates are always changing. Currently, S is living in a room in shared accommodation, but shares the kitchen and bathrooms. Her food is often being taken and she has nowhere to store her fridge items. S would like to apply for any Acts 435 donations to buy a fridge freezer which she will keep in her bedroom.
This request is for a family who are living on Universal Credit so have a very low income. They only have two plates and sets of cutlery which they need to keep washing up to take it in turns to eat. They also have no microwave and only one pan to use to cook. We would love to help this family to have a more functional kitchen set up with a suitable amount of equipment, including a microwave, kettle and toaster, pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, utensils and tea towels.
K is a single mum with seven children who has just moved into a new home after having been made homeless. She would really like a television, but cannot afford one with the limited amount of money she has. K is trying desperately to set up their home. Please can you help?
