Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
Our client had a stroke on the right side of his body, causing him to be hospitalised since summer 2022. He has also suffered a relationship breakdown and could have been homeless when discharged from the Stroke Unit. Our client has recently secured some accommodation, but it is completely empty. A bed would ensure that he is as comfortable as possible on discharge. However, as our client is in receipt of Universal Credit, he cannot afford a mattress. Thank you so much for reading this.
Still £145 left to donate
Total needed £175My client, who has two school aged children, has been without a washing machine for two months. She struggles financially with her daily needs and relies heavily on food and fuel banks to look after her household. My client doesn't have any family or friends close by so cannot use their washing machine, and the cost of a laundrette is eating away at their food budget. Christians Against Poverty has recently helped with her debts, but mum is unable to work, due to female health issues.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200Our client is a single parent who receives Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment to live on, and has an old mattress where the springs are poking through. She is in need of a replacement, which is second-hand, but in good order, so that she doesn't have to worry about being hurt by the springs in her current mattress. Our client suffers from arthritis and back pain, and a new mattress would make a big difference to her life at night time. We hope that you can help this woman in her need.
Still £145 left to donate
