Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
R is a single mum to a two and a half year old. They were living with her mum, but this became problematic and they were put in a hotel, which also caused issues, as it was too noisy for the child to sleep. They have now been put in temporary accommodation, in a flat which they love, but are in desperate need of a washing machine. R’s only income is Universal Credit which is insufficient to allow her to save for a replacement. Mum would be very grateful for any help. Thank you
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200The gentleman, who has just moved into a flat, following a period of homelessness, is trying to rebuild his life whilst dealing with severe mental and physical health issues. He currently lacks many household items and sleeps on the floor, as he doesn't have funds for furniture. This is making this gentleman's health conditions worse, so we would like to help him to sleep peacefully in his own bed. We are supporting him to obtain health-related benefits so he can start to move forward in life.
Still £175 left to donate
Total needed £200M is a single mum who has moved into temporary accommodation with her young son. She has previously lived with her family and then was moved to a hotel, but both were problematic and they are now happily settling in their own flat. They are in need of a fridge freezer so mum can store food ready for cooking, but she is unable to afford this as her only income is Universal Credit. M would be very grateful for any help you can give. Thanks.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200M has just moved into a supported housing hostel, but it does not have a washing machine. He has very few possessions and no savings, and his income only just covers daily living expenses, so he can't afford to purchase a washing machine himself. Your help to get a replacement would mean that M could look after his clothes and keep them clean and fresh, also helping to build confidence in leaving home and socialising, knowing that he has clean clothes to wear.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200M, who has been living in temporary accommodation, has now secured a tenancy to move into, but it is unfurnished and he has no furniture or white goods. He has no savings and is on a low income which doesn't allow him to save towards much. Friends and family have helped with a few items, but M has been unable to get a washing machine and is struggling to keep his clothes clean. Your support to get a replacement machine will mean he can rely on being able to leave the house in clean clothes.
