Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
R has recently had to move, due to a no fault eviction. His new property has no carpets anywhere upstairs, meaning it is cold, damp and unsafe for his children. R's only income is Universal Credit and he has no savings. We have an offer of free carpets and just need help with fitting costs.
Still £180 left to donate
Total needed £200S lives in a council property in which the condition of the flooring is not good, and is not suitable for her and her family. She is receiving Universal Credit, but is struggling to make ends meet. For this reason, your generosity would be greatly appreciated to support S in carpeting her home. She needs support to pay the fee for a contractor to fit the carpets and the remaining costs, materials etc. are provided for free.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200J, a care leaver who has just moved into his first home, has had to set up from scratch with very little. He has received support for household items and white goods, but has no carpets down anywhere in his flat. A charity are able to provide free flooring coverings if the kind people of Acts 435 can help with the fitting costs. Thank you.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200R, a single mum of two children, has fled an abusive relationship. She has multiple disabilities, alongside post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. After a period in a women's refuge, R has now been supported into a new home. Her only income is Universal Credit and she has no savings as she has spent what she had on furnishings and white goods for her house. Floor coverings would turn R's house into a home, help her mental health and give her the fresh start she is desperate for.
