£0 remaining for a divan bed
L, a young man with Autism, moved out of Supported Living into his own Council flat earlier this year. Having broken his bed frame, he has been sleeping on an old mattress on the floor since he moved in. His flat is over a walkway, so the floor gets cold during the winter. His bedroom is so small that there is no space for a chest of drawers, instead he piles clothes on the mattress. A new divan base would help promote his organisational skills and mean he is warmer in bed during the winter.
J, a care leaver who has just moved into his first home, has had to set up from scratch with very little. He has received support for household items and white goods, but has no carpets down anywhere in his flat. A charity are able to provide free flooring coverings if the kind people of Acts 435 can help with the fitting costs. Thank you.
R, a single mum of two children, has fled an abusive relationship. She has multiple disabilities, alongside post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. After a period in a women's refuge, R has now been supported into a new home. Her only income is Universal Credit and she has no savings as she has spent what she had on furnishings and white goods for her house. Floor coverings would turn R's house into a home, help her mental health and give her the fresh start she is desperate for.
This young adult in a Ukrainian refugee family asks for help with £200 to purchase a refurbished washing machine as the previously donated one has stopped working and is beyond repair. The family are studying English and, as they are using their limited benefits to cover other costs, have no savings, having left all their belongings in Ukraine. Please can you help them to avoid the everyday stress and high cost of managing without and continuing to work towards employment and integration into UK life?
