£0 remaining for a cooker
R is a pensioner living alone and, despite his illnesses, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), he is trying to live independently for as long as possible. R is in desperate need of a replacement cooker. The council serviced his cooker, identified a gas leak and turned the gas off immediately, leaving him with no way of cooking meals. R is living on his pension and has very little disposable income once his bills are paid. Cooking is something that brings R joy.
This lady, who is unable to work due to mental health issues, lives alone and spends most of her time indoors. Her under-counter freezer is broken and she finds it difficult to manage without a freezer as she only goes to the shop when absolutely necessary. Please can you help?
This asylum-seeking mother of three from Iraq asks for help with £200 to purchase a refurbished electric cooker. Recently she was told that the cooker would not be replaced, but she cannot afford to purchase one on her limited asylum benefits. Mum has tried every other possibility, but has nowhere else to turn. She receives some help with food and clothing from Meeting Point, but we have no other help for her. Please could you help her to cook healthy food for her family and have what they need as they settle in Leeds?
This lady had to stop working due to mental health issues and, at the same time, her landlord put up the rent. She is single, found she could not keep up with her rent alone and was evicted. This lady has now moved house and is trying to make a fresh start and re-pay some of her debts. She needs a fridge freezer, as she does not have one and frozen food is often more economical. Your support would be so good in helping this lady to settle in her new home.
