£0 remaining for a fridge freezer
L is a single young man who lives alone and has significant mental health issues. He struggled hugely throughout the Covid pandemic, and is still finding it difficult to leave his home and socialise. L is unable to work and is dependent on benefits. He is currently additionally anxious as his fridge freezer has an irreparable motor and he can't pay for a new one, alongside paying for the care he needs. A replacement fridge freezer would alleviate his concerns relating to food safety.
J and A live, who live in a newly acquired, unfurnished Housing Association property, could not afford their rent so were evicted. Since then they have been homeless for two years, having lived for six months in a tent before being housed in temporary accommodation. They are on a very low income, with no savings, as A is in receipt of basic state pension and J is on Universal Credit. This couple are very grateful for any help towards a cooker, as they only have a microwave to cook with currently.
N and her three children were homeless for over seven months and living in a hotel. Mum could not afford to store her furniture so when she was rehoused she had to buy second-hand furniture. Mum is sleeping on a broken bed and this is not helping her sleep. She suffers with her mental health and her youngest child is autistic. N feels she would cope better if she had somewhere she could retreat to at the end of the day, where she would feel comfortable and relaxed. Thank you for any help.
J, a single lady who lives alone, is on long-term sick leave due to a mental health crisis and long-term health conditions. She uses the foodbank once a month, and is waiting to hear back from Universal Credit, as her Statutory Sick Pay has stopped. Her oven has broken down and, although .J receives Personal Independence Payments, the money that comes in is not enough to cover all the essentials, let alone when something goes wrong.
