R has been living in shared accommodation for over seven years after splitting from his family. This was problematic, as his ten year old son could never stay with him, due to the risk posed by the other tenants. R has now been given his first home by Birmingham City Council, which means he can have his son to stay with him at weekends. However, he does not have a cooker. R would like to apply for donations from Acts 435 to buy a cooker so that he can cook meals for himself and his son, when he stays.
H has just received temporary accommodation from Birmingham City Council, after spending years in various hostels. She has an eight year old child and is in the process of applying for leave to remain under the immigration service. This is being supported by the local Children's Authority. H has been given a flat which is partially furnished, but does not have a washing machine. We would be really grateful if Acts 435 could fund a washing machine for her.
