R is a single mum with two young children who has been struggling with her finances since leaving a domestic abuse relationship and moving to a small, one bed flat. She has gone back to work a few times, but the responsibility of caring for a one and three year old on her own, and juggling childcare, means R has had to leave. Her phone is now broken and she cannot access her Universal Credit or be contacted by her sons nursery etc. This is impacting her mental health R is trying to budget by staying on a pay-as-you-go phone and not getting one on contract.
