£0 remaining for a washing machine
S, a single mum to a four month old baby, is being supported by Children's Services as she has a history of chaotic substance misuse. She is working hard to make positive changes to her lifestyle and be a good mum to her daughter. S is also making changes to her home in order to become more organised, as this really affects her mental health. She has no washing machine and is hand washing their clothes in the sink. S is currently unable to work and is dependent on basic benefits with no savings or family help.
A is a single parent who is in poor health, is dependent on benefits and has no savings or family support. He is the sole carer of his children, due to him ending the relationship with mother of the children when he suffered much abuse at her hands, severely affecting his mental health. A manages well on his limited budget, but is in desperate need of a new double bed, mattress and bedding so that he can sleep well and not aggravate his health issues. However, he is not able to afford an appropriate one. Any help is much appreciated.
J is a single lady who has been living in a safe house for over a year, due to escaping domestic violence. She has now got her own home, but it is unfurnished. J suffers with anxiety disorder as a result of the domestic violence, and also broke her leg a year ago, which hasn't healed so she walks on crutches. She is, therefore, unable to work, as she did, and is now dependent on benefits with no savings. Riviera Life church has provided kitchen essentials and bedding, but J has no cooker and would be grateful for any help.
R has lived in temporary, single parent accommodation with her one year old daughter for over eight months. She has just been given some good news; a flat of her own, and picked the keys up yesterday. R is so excited to set up a safe home for her daughter, but is also anxious, as she has no spare money from her Universal Credit to buy a sofa, curtains and cooking equipment. Please can we help this wonderful mum to start afresh, making this flat a home and safe place to make happy memories in?
