£0 remaining for a mattress and tables
This single man recently came out of prison and has spent a number of months in a hostel. He now has an unfurnished council flat and needs a mattress and a couple of tables. He has suffered severe injuries to his spine, ribs and legs over the years and suffers with his mental health. This man's only income is Universal Credit and he is unable to save for these himself. He would really appreciate your help in making this fresh start. Thank you.
R has recently had to move, due to a no fault eviction. His new property has no carpets anywhere upstairs, meaning it is cold, damp and unsafe for his children. R's only income is Universal Credit and he has no savings. We have an offer of free carpets and just need help with fitting costs.
J is a single mum with multiple health problems including Hodgkinson's lymphoma, a bicuspid heart and heart failure. Mum cannot work, due to her health, so her income is low and she has no savings. J needs carpets in her lounge, hall, stairs, landing and two bedroom and feels her health is being affected because of the lack of suitable flooring. We have access to free carpets, but please can you help us with the fitting charges to make J's house into a warm, comfortable home?
F and her husband were asylum seekers who have recently been granted leave to remain. This means they have to leave their temporary accommodation immediately. They have secured a Social Housing flat, but it is unfurnished. F and her husband have been supported with a bed and cooker, but there is no washing machine. F has extreme obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) so not being able to keep her clothes and bedding clean is particularly difficult. As asylum seekers, they weren't allowed to work, so they have very little financially.
