£0 remaining for curtains, blinds and poles
Y, who has recently moved into an unfurnished Social Housing flat, has very few belongings and is struggling to furnish her home. She has been donated a bed, but the property has no window coverings and, as it looks out onto a busy residential area, she is having to use blankets and towels to cover the windows. Y, who receives minimal benefits, is struggling with debt, so can't afford curtains and blinds herself. Your support would cover four windows in her living room, bedroom and kitchen.
R has recently had to move, due to a no fault eviction. His new property has no carpets anywhere upstairs, meaning it is cold, damp and unsafe for his children. R's only income is Universal Credit and he has no savings. We have an offer of free carpets and just need help with fitting costs.
J is a single mum with multiple health problems including Hodgkinson's lymphoma, a bicuspid heart and heart failure. Mum cannot work, due to her health, so her income is low and she has no savings. J needs carpets in her lounge, hall, stairs, landing and two bedroom and feels her health is being affected because of the lack of suitable flooring. We have access to free carpets, but please can you help us with the fitting charges to make J's house into a warm, comfortable home?
Our client has been without a gas oven for over a year, due to a gas leak. The family of four are living on a low income, due to them having caring responsibilities. This leaves their budget fully stretched and has meant that they have been unable to purchase a replacement. They have been solely using their microwave to cook any hot food, leaving them unable to batch cook meals, which will help to reduce their weekly grocery spend.
