£0 remaining for a laptop
S suffers with poor mental health and has been out of work for over ten years. After focusing on his health, he is now in a position where he would like to work and give back to the community. He has secured a volunteering role providing telephone support to elderly people, however, he requires a laptop to carry out this role. S is asking for £160 to purchase a basic laptop. The laptop will help him to help others, whilst gaining confidence and experience to help him get back into work.
L had a house fire on 22nd March that gutted the bedroom and smoke damaged the rest of her house. She has brain damage, as well as other disabilities, and her adult daughter stays with her to care for her. L receives Employment Support Allowance and disability benefits. We are requesting £200 for bedding, towels, curtains, paint and clothes to help her recover from the house fire. Please can you help?
We've known K since the age of sixteen when she lived at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), due to multiple risk factors. We now support her through our outreach service for women selling sex on the streets. K has had poor mental health and addiction, but is currently clean. She needs a microwave and washing machine to avoid travelling to the day centre on the other side of town, but cannot afford these items, as she is on Universal Credit. K, who engages well with us and other services, is still vulnerable and at risk of exploitation. These gifts will bless her.
A has experienced severe trauma and, as a consequence, experiences mental and physical health difficulties. When she was a child, she fled to Pakistan for safety and now it has happened again, with the family fleeing to the UK. Due to her health issues and dependency on her children, A is often unable to leave the house and gets very distressed regarding her past trauma. A sewing machine will help her calm herself and her sense of purpose.
