£0 remaining for a fridge freezer
Our client suffers from heart disease and has had several cardiovascular surgeries over recent years. He is prone to infection and has spent the past five months in a care home, due to a bacterial infection that impacted both his mental and physical health. This resulted in his long term partner, of over twenty years, refusing to have him at home, thereby, leaving him homeless. Our client has now been awarded a council bungalow, but is in receipt of a pension income and cannot afford to equip his new home with a fridge freezer.
This man sadly lost his partner in a house fire recently. He has been relocated but he has very little in his flat as nothing much could be salvaged from the fire. His Housing Officer has asked if he could get any help to start again. This man especially needs a washing machine and fridge freezer. We have second hand shops for white goods here so hopefully will be able to get these items cheaper than new. Please would you help him to rebuild his life after this tragic event? Thank you very much.
M has been struggling with Long Covid for two years, as well as other serious health issues. Her fridge freezer has broken beyond repair and other recent problems mean that she has no savings left to replace it. She is on Employment and Support Allowance and Personal Independence Payment, and has a teenage daughter. Being without a fridge freezer is increasing M's anxiety about her situation, her health, her daughter's future and her finances. Getting a second-hand replacement for it would relieve some of her burdens.
We are working with a gentleman who has poor physical and mental health. He got behind on his rent payments, due to sanctions from Universal Credit which occurred because he missed an appointment when he was in hospital. We are supporting this gentleman to engage with Universal Credit and get his claim back on track. Currently he is without any income and worrying about the rent arrears, particularly as he is on a low income. This money would clear the rent arrears and top-up his Housing Benefit.
