£0 remaining for a mini oven and a table
When chatting to this client, he told me that his mum, who was his care giver, had recently died, and he has no access to public funds. He, therefore, has no source of finance apart from an uncle who is helping him, and foodbank parcels. As this client has diabetes, he would really appreciate having a mini oven so he can cook, and a small table for the kitchen. He said a full size oven is too complicated, so a mini oven seems like a good solution.
S is an asylum seeker who fled from Kurdistan in Iraq with her mother because of religious and family conflicts. Her family also wanted her to marry a cousin, a man much older than her. They live in a hotel where the food provided is inadequate, S has no recourse to funds for buying food and clothes, and her mother has been ill. Please would you help to bring change to their lives? Thank you.
This lady, who is from Uganda, came to the UK in March this year to seek asylum. She is living alone and is in need of a phone for communication with her lawyer, and to use the phone map to help her find places. This lady's phone fell in water two months ago and she took it to a technician who said it wouldn't work again. She has been using the phone of a friend, but the friend has now moved. This lady has not had a phone for two months and cannot save to buy one as she only receives £8 a week.
JM is an asylum seeker and care leaver who has been street homeless for over seven years. JM is rough sleeping and spends many hours out of doors in all weathers. He has no change of clothes and people tell him he is smelling, because of this he feels rejected and depressed. When it rains heavily he sometimes comes into the centre to shelter from the rain. He has no money for laundry or fresh clothes and would dearly love to have a waterproof coat and a clean set of clothes.
