£0 remaining for funeral costs
R's mum died at the end of June and, despite having a pre-payment funeral plan, there is an excess of £305 to pay. R and her family will struggle to find all this. £200 will make the remaining figure manageable and this will be met by the family.
Having separated from her partner, S is now a single mum of four children. She discovered that her husband had left her with large debts when bailiffs turned up to remove belongings. Mum got some money together to pay them off, rather than lose her and the children’s belongings, however, this has left her very short of cash. S is currently in the middle of completing teacher training at University so without income and with placements, she needs after school childcare in order to complete her course.
This lady has two grandchildren in her care and has not managed to secure any further financial support/benefits. She is claiming Employment and Support Allowance and Personal Independence Payment, but is struggling to pay her bills and with the increase in food costs. This grandmother is currently sleeping on a mattress with springs coming through and is getting hardly any sleep throughout the night. This lady would be extremely grateful for funding for a new mattress so that she can get a good night's sleep ready to support her grandchildren each morning.
L is a single woman who receives Personal Independence Payment due to her mental health issues including autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and bi-polar. Her electricity meter readings were inaccurately read by the fuel company for six months, which has led to a debt accruing. There is still £350 outstanding, but L can meet the remainder amount of £150 arrears. This money will, therefore, allow her to clear her fuel debt before the winter.
