Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
Our client has just moved into permanent accommodation after being in a safe house, having fled domestic abuse with her two young children. Her flat does not have a working cooker or hob so she urgently needs an electric cooker. Our client is currently working with Christians Against Poverty to help her get out of debt, so doesn’t have the income to buy one herself. She has been looking on Facebook Marketplace, but hasn’t managed to find anything. Please can you help?

Total needed £200K has been living in a bed and breakfast for eighteen months. Thanks to Christians Against Poverty's help with her debts, she is finally able to move into her own place. She doesn't own any white goods or furniture and we would love to bless her with a washing machine. K has poor health and cannot drive so going to the launderette is very hard work for her. It would bless her socks off to have her very own washing machine!

Total needed £120This mum of five children, who is suffering from kidney failure and on dialysis, needs a new mattress for her eighteen year old son's double bed. Her partner is unable to work as he cares for her and their three year old. During a year of being homeless, much of their furniture was either stolen or damaged whilst it was in storage. Used beds were found for the children with old mattresses. Total needed £200The family's fridge freezer has broken and they are not able to buy a new one without help. Mum has a six month old daughter who is beginning to eat solids and she would like to introduce fresh food and prepare meals in batches for the freezer. It's wonderful to see mum's care for her daughter, given that she's had many difficulties to overcome and faced much trauma. This is a new start for mum, and a fridge freezer will help her feel better equipped and able to meet her daughter's physical needs.

Total needed £200R is rough sleeping on a boat without amenities, which he considers his home, and is searching for a legal mooring for his vehicle. However, as he does not have any amenities for heating or cooking, such as a generator, the benefits of a wood-burning stove mean that he can use it as a source of heating, to dry his clothes and to cook on. It also does not cause condensation and will help dry out the room. It would meet multiple needs and would really help R out during the winter.
