Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
J has suffered significant with physical and mental health problems for some time, including hospitalisation, and recently lost their employment income. Their cooker has just been condemned and removed, but it is not covered by the insurance and their benefits barely cover daily living costs. This has left them struggling to prepare proper meals and get back to living independently. Your support to purchase a cooker would help them look after themselves as they continue their recovery.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200M has just moved into a supported housing hostel, but it does not have a washing machine. He has very few possessions and no savings, and his income only just covers daily living expenses, so he can't afford to purchase a washing machine himself. Your help to get a replacement would mean that M could look after his clothes and keep them clean and fresh, also helping to build confidence in leaving home and socialising, knowing that he has clean clothes to wear.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200A is a single parent who has fled domestic abuse with her five-year-old child. The child has a suspected heart issue which is being investigated, and A is suffering from low mood and depression. Mum has very few possessions and is trying her best to rebuild a life for herself and her daughter, but she has ongoing financial struggles and can't afford to purchase much. Your help to get a washing machine would mean that A can keep their clothes and bedding clean and fresh.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200L has three young children who share a bedroom. Currently, the children have no storage in their bedroom, so it is very difficult to keep their clothes tidy and clean. Mum would really like to be able to get some wardrobes and chests of drawers so that she can keep their room tidy. However, L is not currently able to work and her Universal Credit only just covers daily living costs, so she is not able to save towards anything.
Still £150 left to donate
Total needed £150M, who has been living in temporary accommodation, has now secured a tenancy to move into, but it is unfurnished and he has no furniture or white goods. He has no savings and is on a low income which doesn't allow him to save towards much. Friends and family have helped with a few items, but M has been unable to get a washing machine and is struggling to keep his clothes clean. Your support to get a replacement machine will mean he can rely on being able to leave the house in clean clothes.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200S and her husband moved to the UK just over a year ago on work visas. S became pregnant whilst here and has been unable to work since her baby, aged three months old, arrived. Mum became ill with mastitis, which necessitated an operation. Visa restrictions mean that they can't claim benefits, and the family are struggling to afford food, with S at risk of malnutrition. They are currently staying with mum's uncle, but there is only one bed so her husband has to sleep on the floor.
