Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
MB, a vulnerable, single male who is currently sleeping rough, is battling with his immigration status. He has recently been in and out of hospital, due to ongoing health issues which cause pain in his arm and the loss of feeling in his legs. Because MB is sleeping rough, he really needs a warm winter coat and some essential food items. In addition, he must keep in regular contact with his Immigration Advisor, for which he will need £20 for a Tesco mobile SIM.

Total needed £80Our client, I, who is currently homeless and living in temporary sheltered housing, has an immigration application pending and currently doesn't have access to public funds so cannot access benefits. He is not able to work, due to his mental health concerns. I is destitute and needs £100 for a food voucher. He also needs some money to buy some winter clothes. £100 will be spent on a voucher for a clothes shop to buy a winter coat, shoes, trousers and a jumper.

Total needed £200MK, an entrenched rough sleeper, has been homeless for around two decades and is living in hostel accommodation. He would appreciate a voucher for some shoes and winter clothes, a top-up voucher for his phone, a haircut (as his beard has grown long since he has been homeless) and a beard trimmer to maintain his beard after the haircut.

Total needed £110This woman I support is fleeing a domestic abuse situation and is in need of support whilst she awaits a decision on her asylum claim. She currently has no recourse to public funds and only receives a very small weekly allowance from a charity. This woman requires a shopping voucher to buy food, winter clothing and shoes suitable for the cold weather in the UK, which she will not otherwise be able to obtain.

Total needed £150This expectant mother, who is due to have her first baby in February, is currently seeking Asylum in the UK and, due to very difficult circumstances, is living in a hostel with very limited funds. Mum-to-be has requested a Primark voucher as she has very few clothes for herself and, due to being pregnant, she is needing maternity sized clothes. She is also concerned that she won't have any clothes for her baby when he arrives.

Total needed £100N came to the UK on a work visa with her husband and three children, the youngest of whom has cerebral palsy. Sadly, her husband became seriously ill after they arrived and N had to reduce her working hours to look after the family. They have no recourse to public funds and mum is struggling to manage on her reduced income. They are living in one room, sharing facilities with other tenants. It would greatly lift the family's spirits to receive some help towards a winter coat and shoes for mum and school uniform for her son.

Total needed £190M is currently looking after her husband, whom she is separated from after he had an affair. He is seriously ill and there is no one else to support her with this. She feels lonely and frustrated with this situation, but also feels a great sense of duty to take care of him. Her husband needs a lot of care during the day and night so M has had to reduce her working hours at her small catering business. As a result, she is in financial hardship and is unable to buy new clothes and boots for the winter.
