Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Total needed £90This single mum has significant medical problems causing her almost continuous discomfort, which is currently exacerbated, due to the poor condition of her mattress. Mum receives Child Benefit, Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. She moved to secure tenancy, but incurred debts, due to misunderstandings, and continues to pay back arrears, which is putting a huge strain on her low income. A new mattress would enable her to sleep better, or at least get more rest, enabling her to cope with the daily challenges she faces.

Total needed £90This single mum has significant medical problems causing her almost continuous discomfort. She receives Child Benefit, Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. Mum has moved to a secure tenancy which is completely unfurnished. She has incurred debts, due to misunderstandings, and continues to pay back arrears, putting a huge strain on her low income. Mum's four year old has outgrown her cot and now sleeps with her. A single bed with drawers, a mattress and bedding would enhance her daughter's independence, improve storage and allow them both to sleep better.

Total needed £90M, an asylum seeker, is a single mother and a cancer patient. She moved earlier this year from private rental into Home Office accommodation. The council was paying for her furniture storage while her asylum claim lasted, so that she could have it ready when she starts renting again. Last month, her refugee status was granted and the council are asking her to start paying her own bills for the storage. It will take one month for Universal Credit to start, so she needs help just for this month.
