K, a resettled refugee from Afghanistan, is a single mother and, following some sensitive family issues, she is struggling to sleep and has high levels of stress. Despite this, she enjoys sewing and has hopes of becoming a seamstress. K is currently receiving Universal Credit and has little money to buy anything outside of day to day essentials.
This young mum, who is on a spouse visa, has a three year old with additional needs, and her husband is away in a mental health hospital. She get what little of the Universal Credit he sends her. Mum has been moved by the council, but her cooker was gas and there is no gas in the new place, so she needs a cooker to be able to prepare food for her and her son. Please can you help?
This lady previously lost her home through physical and mental health issues. After a period in hospital, she moved into temporary accommodation with her adult son and is getting her life back on track. They have now been allocated permanent housing with a housing association, which is an empty flat without carpets, curtains, beds or white goods. Through community support and clever use of free sites, this resourceful pair are gradually furnishing their home but would really appreciate a cooker.
