£0 remaining for a Debt Relief Order
X, a single parent of two young children, has been really struggling during the cost of living crisis and came to Christians Against Poverty (CAP) for help with her debts. She has worked well with CAP, who have advised that a Debt Relief Order is her best route out of debt. X cannot raise the fee, as all her money goes on regular bills and food. Any help would be so appreciated and will give this young family a fresh start. X hopes to return to work when the youngest child starts nursery in April.
This client was referred to us after she was found to be struggling to make ends meet. Over the last few months, the lady and her seventeen year old son have experienced extreme poverty, due to low income, unemployment and increasing living costs. On top of this, the son has been experiencing depression and has attempted to take his own life. The partner social prescriber has recommended a respite trip which this support would cover and enable the family a time to re-coup, refresh and rest.
This client came to us after a change of circumstances at home. Her partner moved in and she was informed that this would not affect her upcoming payment. However, when she checked her Universal Credit account, there was a message in her journal stating that there would be a delay. The client was expecting over £1,000 to pay for rent, bills and food expenses for her and her children, but now has to wait three weeks before anything is available. This support will help with urgent food provisions and bills.
A is forty seven years of age and lives with her husband and three step-children. They have lived in a privately rented house for five years and have been served a Section 21 no fault eviction notice, having to leave the property in two weeks. A is unable to work, as she is going through cancer treatment, so the financial burden falls on her husband's shoulders and he is struggling as he is on minimum wage. They need to put furniture and personal belongings into storage for safe keeping. Thank you for your support.
