Our client is a father of three growing children and a husband to his wife, who is his carer. He has a number of health conditions which are progressively worsening and he has had to stop working. This couple have reached out to Citizens Advice and are being helped to ensure they are receiving all they are entitled to. However, they are struggling to afford the basics whilst they wait for benefit decisions. Please would you consider supporting this family with some funds towards food? Thank you.
D, a single lady with no family or support outside of AGE UK, has been living in unsuitable temporary accommodation, but has now been given social housing as she is very poorly and has a limited life expectancy. D is on a low income and has no savings, due to moving costs, but she desperately needs a cooker so that she can cook healthy meals for herself, and remain as healthy as possible for as long as she can.
S, who lives with his brother in a privately rented flat, has become his brother's carer, due to his brother having poorly controlled diabetes and asthma. Both are struggling financially as they are only on Universal Credit currently. They only have a fridge to store their food, but need a freezer to make shopping and meal preparation more economical. S and his brother have no savings and are having welcome support with debt and money management. They would appreciate help to buy a freezer.
J has recently passed 100 days sober and, having previously been homeless, has now moved into supported housing. J suffers from mental health issues as a result of his years in addiction. He needs some help to buy things for his bare room to help him through the long winter evenings, such as a Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) lamp and a TV.
