£0 remaining for floor covering
J, who has been widowed since 2021 and is now the sole carer for his six year old son, is unemployed. He has managed to carpet his flat, except for the second of two bedrooms and the entrance hall. J would like help to carpet the remaining areas, as the floors are bare and those parts of the flat are, therefore, colder.
The applicant's wife was medically retired from her job as a nurse in 2016. She and the applicant then started a café business, which went well to begin with. Unfortunately, she was then diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (joint hypermobility and susceptibility to dislocation). This means she is no longer able to work and the applicant has to be her full-time carer. Debt issues resulting from the failure of the business mean the applicant needs to go bankrupt, but the fee for this is £680.
This single mum needs a skip to remove excess goods from her home. A support worker is helping mum and the children - ages 2 and 9. Both the children are currently being assessed for neurodivergence. Mum is unable to afford to pay for the skip herself as she has limited income- she works part time and is on Universal Credit. We have been providing food bank support. With your kind donations, we want to help.
This lady is a survivor of Domestic Violence and cares for a 13 year old and a 20 year old who is at university. She was homeless for 2 years; 1.5 years she was given a home, but she had to take out a loan for carpets and decorating. She has Universal Credit but the household outgoings exceed her income and we are providing Food Bank support. Her second hand electric cooker is broken, in a dangerous state and needs replacing. With your kind donations we want to help.
