£0 remaining for a wardrobe and a chest of drawers
K is forty five years of age and is the main carer for her sixteen year old son who has just come out of hospital after having a bone marrow transplant. Mum has reached out to us in a desperate situation, as the ceiling in her son's room has collapsed. Due to the roof leaking, water had built up, has come crashing down and ruined her son's bed and wardrobe, and everything has had to be removed. Her son is sleeping in her bed while he recovers. Please could you help K to replace these items?
This request is for a single mum and her three boys who have fled domestic abuse. The family has been given a house by the local housing association and can finally leave the shelter. There is nothing in the property and, although we have been able to source lots of furniture and flooring, there is no washing machine. Mum needs a machine for the three different school uniforms and clothes the kids go through. Please can you help?
M and her husband, who have been homeless for a while, were recently offered temporary shared accommodation and have now moved in. M says that when they moved in, all they had was a bed and nothing else. She is struggling financially to purchase kitchen utensils, a wardrobe and chest of drawers, an armchair to ease her back pains, some bedding, and a dining table and chairs.
JB had been living in Spain with her late husband. Sadly, he died in Spain and she returned to the UK to be nearer family. JB has been living in temporary furnished accommodation, but has been offered a permanent home that is unfurnished. She was working part-time, but was involved in a hit and run accident and is now unable to work. JB is in urgent need of a fridge freezer, but cannot afford one as she is currently on a very low income from Statutory Sick Pay.
