£0 remaining for a three month bus pass
Our Christians Against Poverty client has become an asylum seeker after working for several months without being paid. Whilst our client applies for a visa to remain in this country, this person is unable to take any paid work and has been given just under £80 a week to live on. We are supporting this client, who has accrued some debt, and would like to provide a local bus pass so that the client can do voluntary work in the next town. Any donation towards a bus pass would be very much appreciated.
J and her husband have recently moved to the UK from India and J is pregnant with twins. Although both are working, they are on low wages and J is now on maternity leave, but is not entitled to benefits. They are living in one room in a multi-occupancy house, but are shortly due to move to a private flat. J and her husband have no savings, as all of their money is spent on bills and the house move. The church has helped with many baby items, but they desperately need a double buggy to enable the babies to go out.
J is a single mum with five children who has recently escaped from a twelve year long domestic violence relationship. The family have been living in a safe house, but now have their own home. Mum is dependent on basic benefits as she has pre-school children and suffers with anxiety as a result of the domestic violence. J has no savings, as she was not allowed to have her own money. Her tumble dryer is irreparably broken and she desperately needs a new one to dry the considerable laundry from her five children.
H, a single mother with two children, is a refugee who recently moved to a new house which is unfurnished. She would like your help to support her so she can buy a used washer. H had already spend a lot of money on buying carpets and painting the house, and currently she needs help with a cooker.
